What kind of service and repair do you offer?

Over the years we have completed many projects, from wooden boat construction, restoration, and repair to finishing off hulls for both commercial and pleasure use. We are knowledgeable in sail and power, and offer a full range of services and marine supplies.

Do you offer transient dockage?

We do not offer transient dockage at Webhannet River Boat Yard.

What type of bait and tackle is available?

We offer a variety of frozen and live baits as well as a large selection of tackle and accessories for both the inshore and offshore saltwater angler. In shop, we provide up-to-date fish reports, current weather and tide info, and the latest regulations. Most important, we are committed to family fun, knowledgeable and friendly service. We welcome the serious and not-so serious angler!

What type of kayak rentals are available?

We offer a variety of single-person and tandem kayaks available on a first-come, first-served basis. All rentals include the kayak, paddle, and life vest. We don’t offer lessons, but we will makes sure you’re comfortable in the kayak and have a planned route before you start paddling.

Where can I kayak to?

Our rentals are un-guided adventures.  That simply means that you can go anywhere within Wells Harbor and the estuary that you would like to explore. You go at your own pace.  The only off limit area is between the Jetties or beyond into the open ocean. We will help fit you for a life vest and give you some instruction, including great destinations:

The Destination Paddle Adventure
Paddle into the main part of the Webhannet River to the right of our launch area. This will take you toward the Mile Road Bridge (your “destination” point), and Billy’s Chowder House. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the bridge and beyond that is an estuary you can explore.

The Marsh and Estuary Paddle Adventure
Paddle around the town dock to the left of our launch area and into the Wells Harbor. As you continue in that direction there are two main estuary brooks. The first “Lower Landing” wraps around Lord’s Lobster Restaurant and carries you into the estuary along the Harbor Road. The second entrance “Upper Landing” is located toward Drakes Island and carries you through a winding path through the estuary with a nice view of a private wooden cabin at the end. Plan on about 2 hours to explore.
